Imagine a world where everyone can participate in critical social decisions, be they laws or budgets or anything else related to governance. Then add another ingredient to the mix : what if all this would be built as a game?
How could we take inspiration from powerful examples of games for social good to build platforms that support engagement and facilitate the mobilisation of Montrealers?
MOBmontreal wants to experiment with this theme by uniting actors who will co-develop a community interested in games as a means to support social change.
Accompanied by the open citizen lab Mandalab, MOBmontreal is shaping up to become a veritable living lab to activate open innovation in social gaming!

MOBmontreal will bring the conversation to wherever it needs to be held. Workshops, codesign activities, presentations and facilitating conversation, where you are, with your people. Lets go outside and play! MOBmontreal wants to be the hub for all playful citizen actions in the Montreal region. Also, we will be prototyping our own actions to get people engaged and involved so follow us on twitter to be kept up to date on the next event!
The festival of citizen play
Service Jam, Hackathon, gamejam, city hacking, flashmobing… we are dreaming up a big event for all Montreal actors interested in mobilization through play. What is it going to be? The MOBmontreal circle
The circle is a collaborative social structure that helps the development of innovations through its horizontality and its climate of authenticity. Thanks to core principles like skillsharing and cocreation, we ensure that participants will explore in depth the idea of games as a means for citizen mobilization.
